Donte’s Boxing Academy Will Launch October 4
DERWOOD (August 1, 2021) — After a successful pilot program held during the summer, Donte's Foundation will officially launch its youth program, Donte’s Boxing Academy, on October 4.
Donte’s Boxing Academy is a 10-week, immersive boxing and wellness program for youth ages 7-17. Students are placed in a structured environment to learn basic boxing skills, improve their athletic performance, and build confidence.
“Many people helped me become who I am today,” says Donté Brown, founder of Donte’s Foundation and creator of Donte’s Boxing Academy. “Without that encouragement and guidance, I’m not sure where I’d be.”
In addition to ongoing mentorship throughout the program, the academy will provide activities such as nutrition education workshops, community service projects, career awareness events, and quarterly reading assignments.
The goal of the program is to produce healthy, well-rounded individuals and prepare children for adult life.
In order to enroll, students will need to go through the academy’s three-round admissions process that includes an online application, interview (held virtually on Zoom), and a one-day trial class to experience the academy before joining.
While the foundation plans on making scholarships and financial aid available in the near future, it currently offers flexible, interest-free payment plans to help parents invest in their child’s wellness.
Donte’s Boxing Academy is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2021 quarter through September 19. The first classes are set to take place on Monday, October 4.
